Google just revamped its Picasa Web Albums photo sharing site with many new features including a very interesting face-recognition feature called “name tags” to help users to find and label the people in their photos and automatically find similar faces in your photo collection. All you have to do is enter a name or choose from your contacts.

Another new feature in the new Picasa Web Albums is the Explore Page, which let users to explore popular photos from its millions of users. The Email upload function allows users to upload photos using email. Collaboration with friends is also possible by emailing photos to the same email address.

You can now access Picasa Web Albums from your phone by visiting m.google.com/photos.

To get your photos from your PC to Picasa Web Albums easily, Google also released a beta version of Picasa 3 photo organization and editing software recently. The following Youtub video shows you what’s new in Picasa 3.
