Today, April 22, is the Earth Day! Digital photographers can certainly do something with their cameras to show appreciation of the planet’s environment. This New York Times article reported some photography projects to promote environmental awareness.
- The Earth Mosaic – Upload photos taken within 24 hour of the Earth Day and the photos will be use to make a huge map mosaic. The upload is now live! Also check out their flickr group.
- EPA Earth Day Photo Contest – Photo contest organized by The Environmental Protection Agency. You need to have a flickr account and photos need to submitted to three individual flickr groups depending on subject: People and the environment, The beauty of nature, and Wildlife. For tips and fun ways to protect the environment, you can check out the EPA Earth Day site.
- 2009 Earth Day Photo Contest: Capture Our Changing World – A photo contest organized by The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies for grades 5-8 children. Participants can take photos anytime from Wednesday April 22 through Wednesday April 29, of something that is changing in their local environment.
