One of our readers sent in the following question:

I am trying to learn NX2 but am computer challenged. I was working with high-pass sharpening and everything goes ok, but the “Ok” and “Cancel” buttons do not appear in my edit list as shown in many of the edit list illustrations. HELP!

Al,

I don’t think you are computer challenged. I need to apologize to any of you who might have been confused. Some of my Nikon Capture NX tutorials were written for version 1.x, which had pop-out dialog boxes for the Edit List steps with the “OK” and “Cancel” buttons. With the release of version 2, all of them were fixed within the Edit List items and no longer pop out. The adjustment effect is applied immediately as you change the settings. Despite those user interface changes, all the facilities and functions from Capture NX 1.x are still available in V2.x. Therefore the tutorials should still work.

I’d like to thank Al for letting us know the problem. I will be adding warnings to old tutorials to avoid future confusions.
