		<description>Holding the flash ON for the entire time is a simple matter of firing the flash tube in a lower ionization state. This is what they do for those aviation warning strobes on towers. In the daytime they fire at their maximum intensity, but at night they fire at a lower intensity for a much longer time. This is done to avoid hurting pilot&#039;s night vision while still marking the tower.

It could be. Nikon probably found a better way of doing the FP high speed sync. Either way, it appears to be a continuous long pulse.
