Spring is definitely here. Birds seem to be much more active in the morning. I was out shooting some macros today but it wasn’t going well because of winds. I noticed the american robin on a tree in my backyard and took a few photos using my Nikon D200 and Sigma 100-300 f/4 APO DG HSM.

The american robin I photographed today was actually pretty close. It must have gotten used to be around people so I was able to shoot just a few feet away without scaring it away. The depth of field is quite shallow. The focus was on the bird’s head and the body appears to be slightly out of focus.

All photos were processed in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.
