Panditital, well recognized name in digital picture frame market, has announced the world’s thinnest PanTouch Clear 10.4-inch digital photo frame at the Photo Marketing Association Show (PMA) in the Las Vegas Convention Center. According to this article on Ars Technica, malwares have been found in the software bundled with some digital photo frames being sold by well known retailers such as Wal-Mart and Amazon. Definitely check your digital photo frame against the affected units mentioned in the article if you just got it during this holiday season. ViewSonic introduces two 8-inch digital photo frames to its product line starting at $119. The DPG801BK and DPG807BK include the so-called SwifTouch(TM) touch-screen technology to provide a clutter- and smudge-free display with hidden control buttons that illuminate to show your menu selections only when touched.
The basic specs are 800×600 resolution (125dpi), 500:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m^2 brightness, 500MB internal storage, MPEG video/MP3 audio playback, USB 2.0 port, and 6-in-1 memory card reader. Pictures can be uploaded to the photo frames through a USB flash thumb drive, memory card, USB cable or computer.
There are not much differences between these two models. DPG807BK appears to support more video formats and Type-1 Compact Flash cards. The extras bring up the price to $159.
If you have not been impressed by the small digital photo frames so far, this giant digital photo frame from Smartparts will likely get you to pause and think. The 32″ SP3200WF features a 16:9 LCD panel with high definition 1,366 x 768 resolution. It can display 16.7Million colors, playback video and sound (WMA and MPEG), and display PDF and Powerpoint slideshows.
It is wall mountable with a nice-looking wooden frame. It has a small 256M internal memory but supports SD/MMC/MS/xD/CF memory card formats. The Wi-Fi connectivity allows syncing to PC, Windows Live Gallery, and displaying RSS feeds.

Sony has just announced Vaio Wi-Fi digital photo frame model VGF-CP1, featuring a 7″ display with 800×480 resolution with 16M+ colors, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), 128MB internal memory, Memory Stick/SD/CF card slots, RSS feed reader and a built-in MP3 player that can play SHOUTcast Internet radio using its stereo speakers. The CP1 digital photo frame can also play back photos stored on your PC and on Google’s Picasa Web Albums wirelessly. It will cost about $300 and be available in mid October.
