There are many articles and opinions about the soon-to-be-released Nikon D3 you can find on the internet but only a few lucky (and good) photographers have had the opportunity to actually use the D3 on a daily basis. Photographer Dave Black spent past three months using the D3 in a variety of shooting situations. Check out this pair of articles: Workshop at the Ranch – New Nikon D3, and On the road – Traveling with Nikon D3. The first article is about sports photography using Nikon D3 at high ISO settings. The second one is about landscape photography and lightpaintings.
While doing research on the D3, I found another photography, Cliff Mautner, also had the chance to shoot the D3 as the only wedding/portrait photographer in the country to have been given the opportunity. Check out the experience and the photos.
Nikon D300 has not yet been released for sale but there are already lots of sample pictures making the rounds on the Internet. Some might be Nikon sanctioned tests, others appeared to be unauthorized releases by people who sneak into exhibits with CF cards. Lots of attentions are paid to high ISO performance of Nikon D300. Some say the high ISO images look great, others say they are still not as good as Canon’s. Well, go check them out yourself.

I ran across this excellent picture a day (PAD) gallery by Yves P. on Pbase.com. The pictures were shot mostly with Nikon D70s/D200, and some really nice Nikkor lenses, such as Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX, Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF AF-S, Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR, Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D IF AF, Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D AF… I am definitely having a lens lust now.
