Ken Rockwell is definitely one of the most controversial figures in the world of photography but his site does have a ton of good information together with, you know, some other stuff. In his update posted on February 19, 2009 he released his user guides for Nikon D700 and D300. I don’t have either of the cameras but the Nikon D700 must be easier to use than D300 because the D700 guide has only 32 pages while the D300 guide has 120!

What makes it more interesting is that he is selling it using an honor system: the guides are free to read online but keeping or printing will cost you five bucks each.

DPReview has posted its highly anticipated review of the Nikon D700 full-frame (FX) digital SLR camera. Like many other excellent camera reviews by DPReview, it is very comprehensive and you can find a great deal of details from the review.  It basically explains each and every button, functions, displays, lists all the menu items, goes through all the specifications, and shows you various charts of various tests results. Thom Hogan has posted a in-depth review of the full frame (FX) Nikon D700. Considered by many as “mini-D3″, the D700 sets a new category of digital SLR cameras with its performance and price points. In the review, Thom sums up the D700 as “… some sort of hybridization of the D300 and D3…”, and “D300 body, D3 image quality”. He noted that there are “a lot of small detail differences” when comparing D300, D700, and D3. Read More…
